Q: What is the fuel source for my Generac Air Cooled Home Stand-by Power System?
A: There are 2 fuel sources for the Generac "Guardian Series" and "Protector Series" 1) Natural Gas (NG) or 2) Propane (LPG). The unit comes preset to Natural Gas (NG) However, it can be easily switched to Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) with a simple turn of a valve inside of the unit.
Natural Gas is the fuel of choice for 2 reasons, 1) it is the most efficient and 2) Idaho is a producer of Natural Gas.
Q: What is the average cost of a Generac Home Stand-by Power System?
A: The most commonly purchased home stand-by power system by Generac is a 14Kw to 22Kw unit. These sizes will typically power a 1,500 to 3,000 SF home utilizing NG (natural gas) as the fuel source for heating the home, water heater, and cooktop or range. The total average cost of purchasing these systems turn-key including all costs is between $13,500. and $16,000 for a straight forward installation and easy access.
Q: What is the approximate wait time from the time I order my generator to when it arrives?
A: The current average wait time from the time we order any generator to when it arrives (at this time December 2023), is 3 to 4 weeks. However, we always have units on order and arriving regularly so depending upon the unit that you choose, that time can sometimes be reduced.
Q: Is there a deposit required when I order my generator?
A: Yes a 50% deposit is due upon signing our agreement. However, providing it is a unit that we regularly order (22Kw, 24Kw, or 26Kw), your deposit is fully refundable at anytime, as long as we are notified prior to delivery to your residence or business.
Q: Can I finance my generator?
A: We do not offer direct financing but we do recommend checking in with your local Credit Union or online with Hearth Construction Financing. This is an online based lending facilitator that gives you multiple financing options with no collateral depending upon your good credit and current debt to income ratio. Q: Is there anything that I need to do in advance of our meeting?
A: Yes. Please contact Idaho Power customer Service line at 208-388-2323 and tell them that you are looking into the possibility of purchasing an automatic emergency standby power system for your home, and that you need them to email you your "Peak Killowatt Usage monthly" for the past 18 months. NOTE: This is not available on your bill or online. They should email it to you while you are on the phone wit them. Once you receive the email, please print a copy of the information out to have available when we meet.
